Prepping!!

Along with raking and blowing leaves fall at the homestead means it is time to prepare for the owls return to the nest box. Although they stay around all winter they rarely return to the box until it is time for mating. To start with Dave made the long climb up the ladder.

Making sure not to breath anything in! This year he decided to make some modification to the box so that next year it will be easier!

It was not an easy chore and Dave did a great job!

Dave searched and searched the Internet for a new type of camera that would hold up and have a better picture. The new one is much bigger so hopefully the owls and owlets will leave it alone!

A picture of the box on the TV as Dave adjusted the camera angle. It is a color camera so I am expecting some interesting viewing from the box around dinner time!!!! We switched over to the box after dark to see how good this camera was.....we are impressed. Not only are we providing shelter but also snacks to tide them over!!! :)

The VERY best part will be sharing it with these two little LOVES!!!

The CUTEST grand babies EVER!!!! xoxoxoxox

Sunny October!!

Let's start this blog with tutu much cuteness....Get it tutu!! I crack me up!!

Wish I had a better picture of Miss Haven in the cute outfit but this will have to do!!

We have been busy with family and fun recently. Haven is growing so quickly and she is loving spending time with everyone! Here she is with Ggma Ward stlyin' in her giraffe leg warmers....too darn cute!!

Ggpa Ward wanted his own special time with her. She was having an in depth conversation about something!!

We had a VERY SPECIAL visitor this last week!!! Great aunt Dianne came to spend some time with all of us. I think she especially liked some cuddle time with Haven!!

I think Haven liked the attention!!!

Isn't she a bright eyed beauty!!!!?

We have had some unusually beautiful weather for October. In fact although the temps have been in the 40's in the morning it has been into the 80's by midday. Perfect for taking the boats out and doing some sailing. We packed up the boats, the kiddo's, some food and headed out for some fun!!!

As you can plainly see Lukas was ready for anything!! :)

We headed out to Yankee Springs for a day of fun and sun!! Lukas took aunt Di down to the shoreline and she pointed out something across the lake!!

They had a lot of fun drawing in the sand together! They became great pals!

Lukas, always the gentleman picked flowers for all the ladies!! He handed them out while we waited for the sailors to head in!
I am pretty sure a couple of hearts melted here!!! :)

Haven had the best seat in the house.....although it did get a little warm and we finally let her out!! heheh

I wish I had gotten a few more pictures of the color. Not sure what I was thinking...The leaves seriously were just starting to turn a week ago and suddenly color was bursting in some areas!

Lukas had other concerns with trees. He found that someone had stuck gum on the bark and it really concerned him!!! He worked very hard to remove it!

The men folk had headed for the lake a few hours before we got there to get in as much sailing as they could. You know their days are numbered!!! They came in for some lunch and then it was time for the family to head out!

Now for tons of cuteness!!! Gpa bought Lukas his own little wetsuit!! OMG!

It may have been a tad snug....but with a few little adjustments....we were all set!:)

Prepping for a show of muscles!!

There you have it....I love the face that goes along with it!!! :)

And what fashion show would be complete with out a little bootie shakin!!!!!

Wetsuit, check...life jacket, check...hat, check....sunglasses, check...let's go sailing!!!

He is quite the little sailor!!

A perfectly beautiful day for enjoying the lake!

Right away Dave put Dianne to work!

Off they went......they had a great time!

Haven and mommy enjoyed some time in the shade...seriously it was the perfect day to be outside and relax!

Enjoying the ride!

We could not have asked for a more beautiful day!!! Everyone got a chance to sail and it was the perfect time to catch up with Dianne.

Lukas got to do a little swimming too. It was a little chilly but he was game for anything.
We packed everything up and headed home for some pizza and more conversation.

We had a great day. It was so awesome to have family here. Jesse, Amy and the kids spend a few nights with us rather than traveling back and forth so I got to see a lot of this face!! :) The best!!

Thanks!!

Haven....time sure does fly!

While her gma has been majorly slacking miss Haven has been growing and changing day by day! What a treasure and special little lady she is!

Who doesn't LOVE a picture of a sleeping baby!!!??

Love the tiny perfect fingers!!

Haven is such a good baby. Very good natured and growing day by day! As you can see she is a doll!!!

She also is ready to learn all kinds of things, and as with her big brother Gpa is ready to teach her!! She was very intrigued with the way the flag waved in the breeze!!!

Gma wants to make sure she has a healthy love of owls!!! :) :)

Getting a little work out time, lots of kicking and stretching!!

Noni made Haven a cute little hat on the day she was born. She has since made some adorable additions to it, some flowers and a little ruffle. As you can see Haven Loves it!!! :)

NOPE.....no owl addiction here!!! I am only going to worry if her first words are HOOOO!!!!

A few weeks ago Lukas found a tiny tie tack of Gpas that was shaped like a saw and wanted to show Haven how it worked! He started to saw on a lincoln log and stopped, jumped up and as he ran to the door said "I better get her hearing protection, so it won't hurt her ears!" What a great big brother!!

OMG, look at this adorable little ruffly butt!!!

Today she is having her 2 mo. checkup....how it that possible?!?!

We could not be more thrilled having this little lady in our lives. She is so happy and she is starting to try and have some very in depth conversations with Gma!!! :) Ok, so maybe she is cooing but is sounds like she is saying HI Gma to me!!! :)

I will let you know how much she has grown soon.......I promise!!!
