I will try and not make this the longest post in the history of the blog world........no really I will!! The week started out rather nasty. After a week that saw the temps in the 80's it got cold and rainy. Early in the week we got a heck of a storm with a mix of snow and hail. This is at about noon and you would think it was nighttime.
And, then it really started to hail....and hail hard. This was after it stopped pelting the deck, and I had a few minutes to run and get a penny!! It then rained like 3 inches and the creek in the back was REALLY flowing. Dave was so glad that we spent $50. and put down some fertilizer!!!! We did not get the worst of it though. Jesse and Amy's neighborhood was a totally different story!!! The night before the storm went through with a fury. Most of the neighbors lost either shingles, or siding. There were broken windows in both houses and vehicles. The house next to them had the play set torn apart, there were grills and lawn furniture everywhere. Across the street trees were uprooted and one house had a 6 foot fence section sticking out of the second story. Silos were knocked over and trailers at a RV shop near there were torn apart and turned upside down. Other than a few lifted shingles they came through it unscathed!!
What's this you ask??? This is the result of keeping your granola bars in the garage and forgetting to shut the door. I told Dave that they needed to go in his truck for easy access....but...!!!
The raccoons had a little treat and left us with the mess in the yard and driveway!!
Great news!!! For a VERY long time now Sarah has been wanting a new car. She has wanted THIS car and finally this weekend it happened!! She and Dave have been obsessively cruising the Internet to find the right deal and they found this one in Kalamazoo. Thank goodness because Dave wanted me to go to Pittsburg and get one they had found!!
Her grandpa and grandma Ward have a mini and today we went to get pictures of the 2 of them together!!! Now they can go play together!!! She is so VERY happy and in love with her car. Congrats Sarah you deserve it!!!
While we were in K-zoo guess who went to see.......Yep, surprise ...we saw Lukas........oh, and Amy and Jesse too!! Now in order to be true to my word about the longest blog I will keep the commentary to a minimum here!!! We had a little fun at the park and a little photo session!!
The water was VERY COLD, but Lukas wanted to stick his toes in!!
Somebodies mommy really loves him!!!
Here aunt ya ya see my pretty flower!!!
It is awesome because he is really finding his words and he says Hi Ya Ya as plain as day...I think I may be ga!!!
He loved being dipped in the water!!! He had some cold tootsies but he LOVED it!!
While Sarah and I were dealing on a new car Dave went to Fort Custer for a bike ride. Afterwards he met us back at Jesse and Amy's house. I am a little surprised at myself as we walked and drove around looking at all the damage.........go ahead ask me.....did you take any pictures???? UMMM NO!!
I was not thinking very well was I? Instead I took pics of Lukas and grandpa playing. Dave is thrilled because he is also saying hi Grandpa plain as day....again I say I think I am ga!!!
After Jess got out of work we met him at Olive Garden for dinner. I think someone was really tired from all the outdoor playing!!! Someone else was more than happy to act as a pillow!!
I will try and relay this story as quickly as possible...... Jesse was holding him and he was enjoying a yummy breadstick. He was at the head of the table with Dave and I on opposite sides of him and Sarah next to me. We were asking him where things were....where's your cup, where's mommy......where's g-pa..........he perked up and with a HUGE smile he pointed at Dave and made a cute little laughing sound.....
Where's g-ma???...without even looking away from Dave and VERY nonchalantly he half flipped his hand and pointed at me....it was like he was saying OH her ....whatever she is right there...:( :( Like I said I think I am ga!!
OK, so I did the best I could to keep it under control and not to long!!
Had to include this picture because I love those toes!!
One last bit of information...we should be having owlets sometime this week....we are watching the nest box and will keep you updated on their arrival!!!
