Kentucky Day 2

OK, so first Dave was upset that I didn't include this picture in the blog yesterday. One look at the way I appear in it and you all should know WHY!! But, in order to keep him happy I will include it today with the explanation that it was really humid in that cave, I need a perm (Brenda!!), and it is a horrible angle!!!! This is what happened after we came out of the cave and into the hot weather.

This morning this is what we woke up to. It rained really hard a couple of times during the night also. I called the campground we are going to in Georgia to see if they were underwater, there was a long silence, and then she said "UMMM"........she then said they had to move 2 trailers but that the rest were fine for now!!!! We shall see as we are heading out tomorrow morning.

Thought you would like to see the rig with the add-a-room up and ready to roll.

Dave needed to put some real time in on the bike, come rain or shine!!! He headed out between rain drops. Later when he returned he said he was chased by 4 dogs. He was able to use his bike to keep them away until the owner finally came out an called in the dogs. Scary!!

Well, not too much more to tell from this end. Hopefully, we will make our next destination with no problems and the campground will be above water!!!!!! Jesse , Amy and Lukas will be heading down tomorrow and we hope they will have great and safe trip. The big news on that front is that Lukas has his first tooth!!! What a big boy and I can't wait to be able to share pictures.

Our ole' Kentucky home

Dave, Sarah and I are in Kentucky. So far I am in a better mood than the last time we traveled together!! I did have to threaten them to "GO WISCONSIN" on them at one time. But, for now things are going well!! The skyline in Louisville.

We are staying in Cave City at the Jellystone Park, (Sandy I told them we found out about this place from you and they are charging me double!!!) Dave and I have always loved Yogi! or is it Boo Boo. When we first got here it started to POUR. Of course when you get set up it stops.
Sarah loves the bear too!!!

Home Sweet Home!!!

So today we headed off to Mammoth Cave to see what we could see!! Things started off well!!! Kath, our guide gave us a warning speech before entering the cave. I listened to every word and still went in!!

At the mouth of the cave it was very hot an humid. They have you turn a corner and the cool air from the cave hits you.......ahhhh this won't be bad!! Then you see this!!! OK did Kath talk about this??

We got into the cave and the only part that Sarah wasn't too sure about was when she felt the grate over the 105ft. drop flex a little........come on Sar ya wimp!!

Now we were really getting into the bowels of this beast!! It was getting a little lower as we went farther in......and yes, Kath did tell us about this!!
Yep, keep going....at this point we were singing the Flo-rida song.....LOW LOW LOW LOW LOW........Nice caboose Dave!!
Then is got a little narrow!!
Seriously, is this politically correct?!?!?

But, the fat girl made it with nary a scratch. I only had to decide which way to face as we went through here. Some areas it was better to turn away from the rocks to get the front through!!! Did you catch my drift??? Sarah mentioned that it was too bad we didn' t have a ace bandage for a little binding!!!!

Then as if I had not been tortured enough in 2 hours there was this!!! The only way out. I made it out and when we did we wished we were back in the cave where it was 54 degrees. It was a hot and humid afternoon!!

Back to the campground after a little drive and a stop at a very interesting little country store!! We decided to try out the new add-a-room on the trailer. Dave still had a little install work to do but it looks great and makes for a lot more area for us all.

See, Sarah is enjoying it already!!

One last entry......pretty flowers but is that a moth or a butterfly???? If it is a moth then I am sooooooooooooooooo grossed out and will never take a picture like this again!!!

PLEASE tell me it is NOT a MOTH!!!!!!!!!!

Stay tuned for more....

Catch Up!!

Since g-ma hasn't updated her blog lately I thought I would do it for her. Not sure but she said something about being lazy. Well, so be it I am glad to fill in.
On Sunday grandpa was hard at work on the trailer, at ggma Starks house. He was installing a added room onto the back. Once it is done and the back door is down he says it will add a lot of extra crawling space for me.
Thank you for thinking about me g-pa.

Afterwards g-ma and g-pa came to visit with me at Aunt Sarah's house. We had a really great time.I got to hang with the fam and play some peek-a-boo with mom. I am now crawling on all fours but, still find it much faster to belly crawl when I really want something.

Earlier in the day I had been to the lake with my other g-ma and g-pa and had a great time there too. I needed to get some of the sun screen off so I asked aunt Sarah if I could use her tub. She was more than happy to let me use it until she saw how much splashing I can do. Hey, she said she is planning on painting the walls anyways. Grandma wanted to post the pictures of me with my butt showing!!! How embarrassing it would have been.....she said it is a really cute butt.
Man, is my face red!!!

On Tuesday g-ma came to see me again and she was teaching me how to channel my inner American Idol. We had lots of fun singing and she told me she IS the next American Idol!!!! She sings so beautifully, I can believe it!!

We also played a little hide and seek with the blanket. I love when she and I play this. I get to kicking even before she covers me up. I laugh harder when I am covered than when I can see everything!! I LOVE it!!!

I am getting much better at crawling , and I love climbing on anything. Mom and dad had to lower my bed for fear that I would pull myself up and over.

I will close now and say goodbye thanks for the interest in what is going on in my life.

Just need to say this!!

No pics in this one. Just something I needed to get off my chest. Yesterday was eight years since the attack on the USA. Not just the towers or the Pentagon. It was an attack on all of America.

I am sure most people remember exactly where they were at that moment. I remember walking into work and hearing it on the radio. Like most people I thought an accident with a small plane. I went to the backroom to start stocking shelves when we heard about a second plan. Now we knew it was NO accident. We were all stunned. I lived closest to work and ran home to get my little 5 in. TV so we could watch and not just listen to the news. By the time I got home tower 2 was collapsing. I remember thinking I can't watch this on a 5 in. so I grabbed our 27 in. Still am not sure how I did that.

My first thoughts is where and how are all the family. Sarah was in school in Colorado and Jesse in Kalamazoo. I had to call them just to hear there voices. You just want to hold everyone close.

At work we all tried to carry on, but you just couldn't believe what you were hearing and seeing. The problem now is that I think too many people have or are trying to forget that day. I watched a special on the history channel last night,102 min. It was like seeing, and feeling it all again. Dave and I sat in stunned silence at the horror of that day. It was VERY hard to watch, but I am glad I did. It reminded me that we are so fortunate to live in the USA. Fortunate that we have men and women who have kept us safe for the last eight years.

Hug your loved ones and NEVER FORGET!

Labor Day!

We had a great Labor Day weekend at Deep Lake. Family and friends came to visit. Problem is when I look through the pics I see that I have a lot of pics of........yep, Lukas and none of anyone else.....I bad!!! But come on who can blame me!!

I found a travel highchair that folds up and he seemed to like it!!

Here Aunt Sarah kept an eye on him.

After a little nap he was up and at em......with the cutest bed head!!!
He also got a little ride from dad.

Lukas likes it when you read to him. He settles right down to listen.
There were no books outside at the moment so Amy read him a box.

He seemed perfectly happy with the stand in book!!

He also spent some time standing around the camp chairs.

And for good measure I played a little paddy cakes with my favorite little boy!!

He loves to roll em!!!

We had a really nice extended weekend. Our friends Anne and Tom Hahn came for a visit and the guys all went for a bike ride. The women folk spent time hanging at the camper. Dave's folks came by for the afternoon and dinner. I can't believe that I left my camera at the trailer when we went to dinner...where Lukas tried his first lemon.....TOOOO CUTE. At one point Lukas was looking at all the decorations and he started talking and laughing, loudly and Dave said........"Now we are THAT table." Love it.

Lukas part deux

I bet you were all wondering if I was going to post a second part to the post. Grandma was at the campground at Deep Lake, end of the Verizon world. Honestly you would think we were on top of a mountain somewhere for the service we get there. Anyways, I am back to finish my story.

As you can see while I was trying to get dinner together I got a visit from Schaffer. I really like my dog and as you can see he likes me too. He slicked me good!!

A little later and I was playing but I wanted to make sure and keep and eye on Schaf.

I can be really intense when I want to make sure I know where my doggy is. I tried to tell him a little about my day with grandma.....I am not too sure he was paying attention!!

It was dinner time and I was ready to eat. Mom and grandma were talking....what were they thinking?? Here I am ready and willing to eat and I do believe I showed great restraint waiting for that spoon!! Finally, she got started and then missed my mouth a few times. All in all dinner was great and thank goodness for bibs or my cute clothes would be ruined!!

The next day daddy had a meeting for work in GR so grandma took me home with her. Well, not exactly home as she and grandpa were picking up the trailer at great grandmas to take to the lake. I really enjoyed my visit at ggma's. I was really intrigued with the awesome zipper on her shoes. Don't worry she has a really good grip on my shirt here and I wasn't going to fall.

So while I was talking to ggma I let the spitting get a LITTLE out of control. What can I say, I love the funny feeling it make on my lips.

Ggma watched me while grandma and grandpa hooked up the trailer. Here you can see I am saying howdy to grandpa before he heads out.

I happened to notice a really cool wooden tool here on the porch and thought it would make a fun chew toy.

Ggma was happy to let me play with it after a little instruction on the proper chewing technique.

I waited for dad out at the lake with the g-rents. Grandpa was letting me play at the table.

If you look close you can see I finally got a good laugh out of grandpa. I had a great time with them and I can't wait to tell you about our holiday weekend and vacation to Georgia. Stay tuned it should be interesting.

Again thank you to Lukas for his blogging skills. He wanted to do this earlier, and he was really patient with me. He is right stay tuned to the next few weeks. I promise to be in a better mood than Wisconsin!!!

Lukas' day part uno!!

Hello all, it is my turn to blog again!!. A heads up from the beginning. I was so busy that I have decided that I am going to have to do this in 2 parts. Who would have thunk it!!! Grandma came down to keep an eye on me and was surprised to see the progress I have been making. Well, I am getting ahead of myself. First I had to take a little time to think about what to do with this day.

After that I happened across grandma's toes just hanging out on the floor. I tried to get good close look. Don't worry she pulled them away really fast so I was not able to get them in my mouth......at this point EVERYTHING goes in my mouth.

So I have been working on my crawling skills. My mom and dad say I am all over the place and chasing down all my toys. As you can see I also like to track down Schaffer and see what he was doing.

Grandma said she included this picture just so you can see how my hair has grown. I have also been told to get used to being filmed from behind because grandma likes taking pictures while no one is looking.

This is a skill I learned awhile ago but have rediscovered. I actually believe that I enjoy it more now. I just can not seem to get enough of it ,but I do find that it makes for a wet environment. Not just for me but the people around me!!!

When it comes to eating I very much enjoy that also. I have not yet tried the raspberry thing while I am being fed. Grandma says that is good. And an FYI when it comes to eating I know what I like and how I like it. When I am ready for food I AM READY...and when I am done I AM DONE. Grandma says you can hardly scoop it in fast enough, and then the door closes. She also noticed that I know what I like and what I don't. If I don't like it you are not getting that spoon in to save your life!!

While I am working on the crawling thing I am also trying out a new means of getting to my toys. I haven't perfected it yet but I am getting there. Grandma said mom and dad better be careful I am going to be a handful.

Mom is so awesome, she has a whole cupboard of Tupperware just for me!!! I found it the other day, I hope it wasn't supposed to be a surprise!! I am also perfecting my stirring skills and planning a meal for the family.

There are lots of other things I want to share with you but grandma said something about having to get going with her day,( something about lots to do!) I still need to tell you about my visit to Great Grandma Starks and staying with G and G at their trailer for the evening. In the mean time you can see that I try to get control of the camera on occasion......to NO avail. Man she just won't part with that thing.

Sorry, I know Lukas wasn't quite done with his story telling but I couldn't monitor his computer use any longer. I know he isn't surfing the web yet, but you never know what he may be seeing on all these blogs. I will help him another day. In the mean time can I just say.......I cannot even tell you how much

I LOVE THIS BOY!!!
