Memorial day weekend and I haven't updated the blog for a few days so here goes.
Once again I got to have a owl watching buddy come for a visit. Before we hung out outside we did a few things around the house, like play!! He is one of the happiest little ones I have ever been around. I am not saying he doesn't cry but, it is seldom and not very long lasting. Even when he just wakes up he lays and chats and giggles for quite a while. When I spent the night at Jesse and Amy's the other day I heard him chatting and then Jesse went in and I heard him laughing and saying "your going to wake up grandma mister" What a great way to wake up!!!
Lukas wanted to help with dinner prep so I put him in his chair to make it easier. He decided to leave the cooking to me and he would just provide entertainment! What a character.
Now on to the business at hand...some outdoor fun and owl watching. We hung out together and Lukas spotted the owlets behind the house.
After Jesse went to Deep Lake for a bike ride he came to hang out with us.
This is one of the owlets preening and stretching. We see and hear them almost every morning and evening. Occasionally during the day, but not that often. We hear them screeching for food very close to the house. It is a little disappointing because it is at dusk and you can't see them.
It was a long day at Grandma and Grandpa's house and Aunt Sarah had the touch (bottle) and put him to sleep. Night nite.
On Saturday we headed to Vicksburg for some fun and some work. Jesse and Dave went for a long road ride and Sarah watched Lukas. I headed out to pick up some storm doors the kids had ordered, while poor Amy was a work. Once we were all together and had some lunch we put the boys to work putting up the doors. As you can see we women were pitching in!!!

It was a beautiful day and Amy was in charge of sun protection!! Lukas wanted to help daddy and grandpa but, we wanted him to keep us entertained.
On Sunday my wonderful daughter came over and helped me plant some flowers. We got flowers planted at her house first and then she came over and we got almost all the plants in here. It is starting to look like summer.
The other big project of the HOLIDAY weekend was the deck. We have a good start on it. Friday we washed it and them Sunday Dave started the painting process. Here is the before.
And this is, almost after. Still lots to do but we will get it done in short order.
But for now........
We rest!!!!
