Camera #1

Why the title camera #1,because I have 2 cameras and it seems that so many times I grab which ever is the closest and then when I want to write a blog they are a little mixed up and really hard to organize. It takes me what seems like FOREVER to upload photos to blog spot the way I want to!!!
Like this pic for instance....it should be down there in camera blog #2 because it was when we were lining up owls that I took it.....OH well it's here now!!! :)

And this one should be after my visit to the children's museum with gma and aunt yaya!!! We were a little worn out!!!
So here is the back story to the following photos. Jesse and Amy celebrated there 4th wedding anniversary last week...Happy Anniversary!!! They decided to take the camping gear and the boat and head out for a little time alone......and that meant we got to have our little buddy for the week!!! He was a real champ, sleeping through the night(except for 1) and just generally great. He did miss his mommy and daddy and he kept looking at their photos and kissing them!!
Too cute!!
So while Lukas was here and the weather was nice gumpa took the afternoon off so we could all go to the John Ball Zoo.
Look gumpa ducks!!
Lukas wanted to help push, rather than ride in his stroller.....and man I look like crap in this pic but he looks so cute so I posted it!!!

And he rode on gumpas shoulders. He is so interested in EVERYTHING. Always looking and pointing and Dave is more than happy to tell him what things are and to show him all the interesting things.

OH LOOK gumpa monkey's!!!! He has a animal book here and we spend time looking and identifying the animals in it.....he did great at the zoo naming things on his own!!

Looking very intent!! A friend when she saw this pic said that they have the same intrigued look on there face!!!
He liked playing the drums after he saw the lions!

Here gumpa's introducing Lukas to some of our distant relatives!!

Wow, this has been a busy day so far I need a few minutes to regroup!!!

The next day he talked a lot about Baboons and Chimpanzees!!! Too darn cute!

Lukas once again wanted to help push rather than ride......here he just uses a different technique!!

I swear if he could have he would have climbed through the bars to see the mingo's!!!

He always LOVES watching birds here at the house and it was no different at the zoo!!

You know you have to stop and look at all the manhole covers because there is water down there!!

I so love watching these 2 guys!!!!

One of my favorite pictures of the day!!

Right now Lukas is soooo into choo choos and there was a nice wood one at the zoo!

So when you get a second without all the bigger kids (one informed me that the sign said no one but him was allowed on the train),(told the little bugger, tough nut!!) Lukas tried to crawl through!!

Whoops not quite high enough for that!!! OUCH, but nothing a little kiss couldn't fix.

While we were walking along a path he pointed and started saying lemur, lemur....what the heck?? Sure enough there was a cage with lemurs!!!!

His grandparents certainly did not allow him to hang on ropes.....especially when there was a sign saying to stay on this side of the ROPE!!!

A little ice cream break was next on the agenda.

Sarah said he is sporting a white beard just like gumpa!!

Another of those just because I think he is sooooooooooo cute pictures!!

Yup!! Same thing!!!
It was yummy and he really wasn't too messy when all was said and done...and Dave made it through the sticky just fine!!!
Of course he had to have a lemur to take home with him!!

As you all know, Lukas loves to carry things.....he really loves to find and carry sticks!! So he and gumpa went on a stick hunt!
OK that one is good enough!!! Let's get going!
Your right gumpa this one is AWESOME!!!!
He carried it all over the place, trying it out in the holes on the picnic table.....and generally waving it around!

Until he threw it in the water near the ducks as we were heading out!! He couldn't quite understand when gumpa would not jump in after it!!!
What this isn't the way you get carried out!!!

The mandatory pic with the John Ball statue!!

On the way home from the zoo Dave had to make a stop.....because Lukas needed a bike!!!! He thinks so too!!

Safety first, let's get that helmet fitted just right!

Not sure what he liked best the bike or the horn!!

Look at me ride!!!!

Some minor adjustments!!!

No, gumpa I don't think we need to cover it in clear tape...I promise to be careful and not scratch it!!
Friday Lukas went with Amy's folks and they headed north to meet up with Jesse and Amy. I understand that he had a great time camping and did great!!
Saturday morn we took the opprotunity to move Luks swimgset. Dave cleared a section of the woods and built a frame for it!

We moved it and put down some chips..
Now all we need is Lukas again and we are all set!!!

We so enjoyed having Lukas here with us for most of the week He was a real angel.....and we miss him already!! :)

Camera #2 the blog continues!

Hello!!
So as gma was pointing out it has been a busy week. Are you ready to hear more??

While Dave and Jesse headed out for a sail on Sunday, the 22nd, the women folk and Lukas stayed at our house. It was a beautiful day and he wanted to play with the water. I was happy to oblige!!!

First for a little drink....oh oh this looks like it could turn out badly!!!

See I had faith in him that he would figure it out!!

Although he found out that the water coming out of the hose was not that great tasting!!!
He did a really great time watering the lawn and a few of the adults that were watching!! They shall remain nameless!!

Ummmmm....this is empty....how can he be possibly water the rest of the plants??

So he just filled it up!
OH, and someone may have let him take his 2 ton water filled diaper off while he was at it!!
Come on we all know we have let our kiddo's do this and we all have pics somewhere of them with their cute little butts!!
When you hear a plane you have to try and find it!

And when you do you wave and try and spray it!!

After enough time to sun his buns, I was more than happy to provide a towel to dry those buns!! And do you love the doooo!! He sprayed himself in the head and it did that to his hair, and it dried like that too!!!

A few days ago while he was here for the week he collected his owls to show off! These are a few of them. He calls them hoo hoo's which is fine unless you're gma and you are wearing your owl shirt....and he points and says hoo hoo's in public!!!! haha

Peek-a-boo.....

I see.....

YOU!!!!
And did you notice the awesome owl t-shirt tie!??

Lukas is also getting some eye teeth and although he spends alot of time chewing on his fingers and doing a little drooling, he has been in a fairly good mood!!!!
Tuesday of last week aunt yaya took the afternoon off work to go with Lukas and I to the children's museum. Now brace yourself for a shocking admission!!!
My camera batteries went dead after a couple pictures and I had no charged back up batteries!!! What the heck?

To top it off Sarah brought her camera and after about a dozen photo's.....her camera battery went dead also!!! LOL
But the important part was that Lukas was able to play and enjoy, pictures or not!!

He stacked discs, played with balls, walked bridges, played drums, looked in mirrors........

drove in cars, played with trains , stood inside big bubbles, looked at bees,
blew on pinwheels, picked flowers, and did some gardening!!
All of which were captured on cell phone!!!
Lukas took off to hang out with his mommy and daddy and a couple days later gpa and gma headed out to Muskegon,on Saturday, to take in this view!!

And to look at these!!!
Many of you probably don't know but before we got into biking we were into sailing. For a number of years Dave and his family and then he and I owned and operated a sailboat store. Dave also built and raced sailboats, catamarans to be exact!! He was really good at it too, besides many local and state championships he was National A Class champ 2 times. Ever since he and Jesse got the boat out of the barn the interest has been re-ignited!!!!
And he wants to build one of these!!!

Let the building begin!!! He already has some interesting ideas on how and what he is going to do!!! As long as I am not sanding dagger boards in the living room this time around I say

GO FOR IT!!
