You know you are getting close when you see the outlines of the mountains in the distance. First you have to get through all the prarieland...but the view is worth it!! Denver ahead!!!
Once you are past Denver the views are beautiful.........
Oh and on top of one of those mountains is a house that was used in the Woody Allen movie, Sleepers way back in the 70's.
There was some sort of bike tour going on......

and on....... For miles and miles on both sides of the highway and on highway...as far as the eyes could see...
Except for Independence pass....that is where they were diverted up and over Loveland Pass...
We drove under the mountain...and it always very impressive!!

There were a lot of clouds rolling across the mountain tops
and sadly there are soooo many dead pine trees. They have a blight that is and has killed so many of them. We were surprised how many more were dead from just 2 years ago!!

This little fellows seems to be fairing well here at the campground!!!
This morning we woke up to 30 degree temps but, it has quickly warmed up. At the moment we are taking in a little Tour de France, looking out at the mountains. Sun is bright and there are very few clouds in the sky!!
Loving it!!!
