Yay Vacay!!!

Just can't get over how technology has changed trip taking!! Finding it hard to believe that it used to be you drove till you found a pay phone so you could check on the homestead!! Now it's calling and texting at will, a tom tom to tell you where you are and a puter with broadband so you can blog about it all!!! Whoooo Hooo!! So to begin with we are on vacation, a very much needed vacation. The only bad thing about it is that Jesse, Amy, and Lukas were not able to make the trip because Jess started his new job. We will try again soon.
We miss you!!!

Now the night before we left we were having dinner and as always around the house I am keeping my eyes out for the owls. We had not heard or seen hide nor hair.......or feather from them in 3 days. Finally, one came flying across the back of the yard and into a small tree, and almost immediately pounced to the ground. I grabbed the camera( try not to be shocked) and got a picture of it with a vole for dinner. We were very happy to see that they seem to be proficient in hunting their own meals.

After a couple of god awful hot days...spent packing we were OFF!!!! Actually it was better than I thought it would be and we hit the highway before I thought that we would. We made it through Chi-town much easier than we anticipated.

Somewhere in the distance in Iowas something was burning.

And now we are in Nebraska!!

LoL told ya it would be shorter!!! Actually I just wanted to say hello!!! I am so very sure that the next blogs will be MUCH MORE interesting!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH I am relaxing already!
